Art collage at the Salvation Army building in PuyallupThe Elmhurst Board approved a contribution to the Shine a Light program again this year. Thank you to CoBank for again matching this contribution. Thanks to their generosity and support of our community, we delivered two $10,000 checks to the Salvation Army. Thanks also to all of you who give to this program which pays utility bills for those on our service who need financial assistance. As a customer owned utility, this program is truly neighbor helping neighbor.

We also want to thank Diane Lynn Warbus for giving us a tour. The Salvation Army’s building in Puyallup serves as a community center, a food bank, and a source for clothing, toys, and other essential supplies. They serve meals and provide a safe place for people to gather, play Bingo, create art (like the beautiful collage in this picture), and participate in many other activities. Their services also include Senior activities, addiction treatment, utility assistance, and providing disaster relief.

Please visit the Salvation Army website for information on how you might participate, access services, or donate and volunteer.
