Farewell to the Voice of Elmhurst

Elmhurst says goodbye and many best wishes to Diane, our long time (23 years) Administrative Assistant, colleague, and friend. While many of you know her by her telephone greeting, we know her as a calm and professional presence who is always willing to lend a hand, contribute good advice, bring calm to each situation, and who knows everyone and where everything is.

Diane worked at Lyle Wood Products for 22 years as a trimmer/grader, a tough job for a strong lady. She met her husband Ken at Lyle Wood and celebrated 35 years with him this month. They have 4 children (Heather, Shalen, Curt and Jeremy) and 10 grandchildren (Maddison, Spencer, Kaydee, Sophia, Molly, Della, Ezra, Luke, Carson, and Kole) ranging in ages from 4 to 21. Diane left Lyle Wood and went back to school at Clover Park Technical College prior to joining Elmhurst in 1999.

Diane plans to keep up her active lifestyle with RV travelling, pontoon boating, and ATV riding. She is looking forward to spending more time with friends and family, catching up on her 3-page to-do list, and helping her mother who lives close. You may also run into Diane at garage sales and antique stores.

It has been our privilege to work with and learn from Diane these past years. Her advice to “just slow down and take your time” is worth heeding in our fast-paced world. We will miss seeing her work around the office with her headset and hearing her friendly greeting, “Elmhurst Mutual Power and Light, how may I direct your call?”
