Happy Labor Day

Labor Day became a federal holiday in the United States in 1894. It was first celebrated in 1882 in New York City. During the Industrial Revolution, laborers organized strikes, demonstrations, and rallies to fight for better working conditions. Labor Day celebrates the achievements of these laborers who won the 40-hour work week, benefits, paid time off, sick leave, and safer working conditions.
