Shine a Light with Elmhurst this Holiday Season

Posted: November 1, 2021 at 4:43 pm

Sadly more children are entering foster care than the amount of homes available to care for them. That is why this year Elmhurst has again chosen to help the Wishing Well Foundation. This nonprofit organization provides new and gently used clothing to children 0 to18 years of age that are placed in the foster care system in Pierce County.

They are a nonprofit support agency focused on the well-being of abused and neglected youth within the foster care system. Their mission is to provide the clothing, supplies, and experiences unavailable to most foster kids and to retain quality foster homes in Pierce County by addressing financial barriers to accepting foster placements.

If you are interested in helping us with this great program, we will be accepting donations at the office through December 13, 2021.

What is needed most? All donations of new and gently used clothing. Please no used underwear or socks (except infant socks), items with holes, stains, or obvious wear and tear.

What kind of toys are needed? Legos, scooters, Little People, Barbie’s, Littlest Pet Shop, outdoor toys, bikes, scooters, puzzles, gaming consoles, and movies.

Teen items: Wallets, purses, belts, perfume, cologne, bath and body works, nail polish, makeup, curling irons, hair straighteners, brushes, hygiene products, games, and books for all ages. Gift cards, movie tickets, and Seahawks are always a favorite.

Thanks to all of our great customers for your help again this year!
