Low Electric Rates During the Heat Wave

The Heat Wave on 6/28 doubled the normal consumption of summer power on our Elmhurst Electric System. The Owners of Elmhurst Mutual are our Customers and we should all be proud that our power rates have remained as among the lowest in the United States. The average residential rate per kilowatt-hour (kwh) in the United States is 12.69 cents. The average residential rate per kwh in Washington State is 9.76 cents. Our customer-owned Elmhurst Mutual is 5.7 cents, far below the National and State average. Thank a Board Member and the Elmhurst team!
