From Your Elmhurst General Manager — Light Up Navajo

As General Manager, I am very proud that Elmhurst will be sending a volunteer line-crew to “Light Up Navajo” in early 2022. The Navajo Nation is the largest Native American territory in the United States, with an estimated population of 300,000. Among the 55,000 homes located on the 27,000 square mile reservation, about 15,000 do not have electricity. They make up 75% of all unelectrified households in the United States. Our volunteer crew of IBEW 483 Linemen will be helping to bring electricity to those in need. Visit the Navajo Tribal Utility Authority website.

The Light Up Navajo project will help to bring change for families in need throughout the region. The 2019 pilot project inspired nationwide participation. The Elmhurst Community is thankful that we have volunteers who want to be a part of this meaningful, life-changing project called Light Up Navajo! We all want the best for the people in our country – our family, friends, community, and others. That includes you, our Elmhurst members & customers.
