Who owns Elmhurst Mutual?

Our members do! We are a not for profit company, similar to a co-op the company is overseen by a Board of Directors. Our Directors hold three-year terms and are elected to their positions by our membership

How do your rates compare with other utilities?

We are proud to say that we provide electric service to our customers at a little more than five cents per kilowatt-hour, one of the lowest rates in the nation!

Where are you located?

We are located in the Parkland / Spanaway area at 120 132nd Street South, just one block east of Pacific Avenue, right behind S&S Tire Company.

Do you accept credit card or electronic fund transfers?

If you wish to pay by credit card, we accept Visa, MasterCard, Discover, debit cards and check by phone. We also offer electronic funds transfer.


What are your office hours?

Our walk-in office hours are from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday, and the drive thru window is open from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday. We also have an after hours night deposit located near the front door for checks or money orders only.

How often will I receive a bill?

You will receive a bill each month in the mail. Our new bills include the previous years usage.

When is my bill due?

Your bill is due upon receipt.  If the current bill is not paid prior to the next billing cycle, there will be a late charge of $8.00 or 8%, whichever is greater.

How much is a membership fee?

If you are a new homeowner on our system, you will be asked to fill out an application for membership and pay a $35 fee.

When is the Annual Membership Meeting and elections?

Our elections and annual meeting are held in April of each year. We strongly recommend that our members attend our annual meetings and urge them to exercise their rights as members and vote!

Who do I call if my power is out?

You can call us 24 hours a day at (253) 531-4646. During non-working hours our answering service will answer your call and dispatch our crews to restore your power.
